BLOCK #16

Project 48 has been such a great way to use all my Cotton and Steel scraps.  Block 16 is finished.
I am linking up with Fabric Tuesday to show it off.

TRIAL RUN

I have cut out and completed most of these blocks for a quilt.  They are sitting on the bed in our guest room.  For some reason I just decided to try a trial run making a table runner with the same block idea.  These blocks are smaller of course, but gave me some quilting ideas for the quilt once it is done.  My recent behavior lately has been to start all sorts of things and they are all over my quilt room in various stages of construction.
At least I actually got this done so I am linking up with.

BLOCK #15

Not much accomplished this past weekend.  We took off for a few days with our trailer and just lounged around and took life easy.  Once home I hurried to finish up block 15 of the Project 48 BOM.  At least one thing was worked on so I am linking up with

FOREST FLOOR

I picked up a pattern by Bonnie Christine that I fell in love with for a wall hanging in my hall.  I have taken  the fabrics in her Forest Floor line and made a patch work piece as my first step.
Here are my appliqués.
I have a feeling these little guys will take some time to trim out and get set down on the back ground.  It will definitely be a work in progress.  So I am linking up with.

Q2 FINISH A LONG

This project has been sitting around since October 2015.  It is time to get it finished up in this second quarter of 2016.
This little number just went off to the quilter last night.  The idea for it came from a picture in a magazine.
This top just came home last night from the quilter.  Can't wait to get it bound.  It is getting a new home in May with a co-worker that is leaving after many years of working with her side by side.
If I can get this all done this coming second quarter of 2016, I think I have done a pretty good job of finishing things up.

PROJECT IN PROGRESS

I started a new project this past weekend.  Once I had finished up one quilt and its now at the quilter and have a second one to drop off when I pick up the first one I figured I need to dig back into this project that I started last October.

Here is one block done, but not trimmed yet.  Its a start so I am linking up with

PROJECT 48 MARCH DONE AND APRIL BEGINS

March blocks are done.  The theme was flying geese, not my favorite to make.  I did have a bit of help with a 1 1/2 inch by 3 inch Loc Block ruler making all those grey and black geese.  Fun to making the fussy cut gees as well.
This is the first April block.  Much easier piecing.  Such a great way to use some of these Cotton and Steel fabrics.
So I am linking up with

MODERN CROSS QUILT

I saw a picture of a quilt similar to this in the 3rd Issue of Quilts & Crafts Simply Moderne.  It was shown at the Vermont Quilt Festival in June last year by Rita D'Alonzo.  The fabric line I used is by Lori Mason for Andover Fabrics.
Until I saw that picture I had no idea what to do with that fabric, but this pattern seemed to be the perfect answer.  The blocks are 9 inches finished so the quilt is 54 by 72 inches.  I used Kona light gray and and a darker one as well.
Well at least the top is finished so I am linking up with
